If possible, the Drupal core and contrib modules should not be changed. There are several goals for finding such changes: We carry out checks in order to find any manual modifications to the Drupal modules and core. ![]() At Droptica, every new webpage accepted for Drupal support is being scanned with the Hacked! module for changes in modules. The Hacked! module is an indispensable tool in the work of every professional Drupal agency. Nobody maintains it for Drupal 8 at the moment. The user ivnish is maintaining the Drupal 7 module. ![]() So, one could rather say that 16,000 pages have the module installed incorrectly. In the case of the Hacked! however, this is not very reliable information, as it is a module that should only be used in development environments for a short time and should be uninstalled after the work is done. Module's popularityĭ reports that the module is being used by approximately 16,000 pages of which 15,100 are Drupal 7 pages and 900 are Drupal 8 pages. ![]() Hacked! has a version for both Drupal 7 and 8. The module was released on 8 October 2009, and the last modification was introduced on 13 February 2020. How to do that? The most effective way to do this is to use the Hacked! module. Rabbit Hole can prevent this node from being accessible on its own page, through node/xxx.During a website audit, it is possible to detect whether changes have been made to the Drupal core, modules and contrib themes. Perhaps you have a content type that never should be displayed on its own page, like an image content type that's displayed in a carousel. Rabbit Hole is a module that adds the ability to control what should happen when an entity is being viewed at its own page. If you are continually making mistakes of adding same term names in your Taxonomy page, this module prevents you from making these mistakes because Drupal by default will allow you to add same text like it is unique and gives it s different url path. You simply just create a markup field and add whatever markup you want to the field. This module helps to resolve these issues. There may times when you just needed to place some HTML markup to sit between some fields on a node add/edit form exposed on frontend or on node display page but you cannot assign a block in between fields and you don't want to add any extra markup in template file. Of course, you can do this with Menu per Role module but the UX sucks and it is done on a separate configuration page, whereas with this module, it is done right inside of the menu item configure page. Menu item visibilityĪ very handy module when you only want to show a certain menu item to a specific role. This module helps to take care of duplicate field appearing. If you had that annoying moment when some of your fields you that you added in Views are showing duplicates results on the node page and the "DISTINCT" SQL query option in the Views UI does not actually solve the problem. For example: If entity Alice references entity Bob, CER will make Bob reference Alice as well, and keep the references up-to-date when either entity is updated or deleted. Corresponding Entity References (CER)ĭifficult to explain this one but it basically works with Reference field and allows you to refer to each other (meaning it can reference both ways). It also helps you to learn how to better define your site structure since it uses the path aliases to determine and display the breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs that comes with core Drupal is just so bad at it that you wondered why they didn't bother removing it or better still, replace it with this module. Easy Breadcrumbīreadcrumbs in Drupal are never easy to get them right. It is best to clone the default Views Term Page and create a new one. This allows you to setup many different Views pages for different Terms pages for different layouts. ![]() Taxonomy Views IntegratorĮver needed to make your term page look different from other term pages? Views already has a default Views Terms Page but problem is this gets rendered for every Terms Page. So if you want a certain Term page to be styled differently, then this is where this modlule does it's magic. Basically, you create a Views Term Page and use this module to assign it to the Views page, then in your Views page you can make it display how you want it. It adds a search feature for each section of content and users admin pages, making it so much easier to find the content when you have well over hundreds or 1000s. Okay, not exactly less known but very useful for admin UX. Some great useful small modules that can save you hours of custom coding.

While it is constituted of acts (which are deemed appropriate for men/women), and is performed in that sense, merely reading gender as a performance is insufficient. Performing gender, therefore, is not necessarily a choice that we make. Hence, as a strategy of survival, gender is a performance with clearly punitive consequences.” (522) Instead, Butler suggests that “ strategy better suggests the situation of duress under which gender performance always and variously occurs. The idea of gender as performance is lacking, because “performance” implies the ability to step inside and outside of the role it implies the ability for us to stop performing. In this way, we can say that gender is a performance: we take on roles and act out those roles in daily life.Īn important caveat here to note, however, is that understanding gender as simply a performance is a misreading. In other words, what creates gender are the ways we perform masculinity or femininity, in accordance with whether we are presumed to be men or women. This includes our behaviour, dress sense, speech patterns, etc. The constitution of gender can be located in “gestures, movements, and enactments” (519) that we perform everyday. Simone de Beauvoir’s The Second Sex (1949) predates Butler’s Performative Acts (1988) by almost 40 years, and suggests the very same notion that gender (specifically, womanhood) is created, not inborn. This is the core tenet of her (then-radical) claim of gender identity, but originates years before her. On the first assertion: gender is constituted, not essentialized. For a more specific reading of that idea, Anne Fausto-Sterling’s The Five Sexes (1993) is an accessible and informative look at biological sex, and why current binaries are not only insufficient, but socially constructed. I think she also makes some suggestions that biological sex is a social construction, but I won’t be going into that here. I’ll be exploring three of Butler’s assertions in this blog post. This sentence, in itself, may not mean anything, but it will (hopefully) make more sense when we delve into it further. Specifically, she argues that this identity is constructed through a repetition of performative acts. In other words, we are taught how to be women/men.īutler’s specific argument goes further to nuance how this identity is constructed. It is not an essential or natural (see: biological) phenomenon, but a social construction. The argument that Butler forwards in this article (and later in Gender Trouble (1990)), is simply that gender is performative. Through Powerpoint slides! (Plus complementary paragraphs of explanations, haha.) My best approach is to dissect the argument as I understand it, and make sense of it from there. ![]() I have never read phenomenological work, and so I don’t have much to say about that aspect of the essay. I am apprehensive going into this post because I remain very unsure about how best to make sense of this essay. This is my first introduction into the iconic Judith Butler’s work, and the proper genealogies of gender studies that she pioneered. “Performative Acts and Gender Constitution: An Essay in Phenomenology and Feminist Theory”, Theatre Journal, Vol. Despite appearances these presuppositions are not counter to,but rather primary to Butler's reading of gender and subversion.Full citation: Butler, Judith. Central to Butler's thesis is that agency is affective that is to say, agency can only beeffected from a gendered position, therefore the subject does not exist prior to its agency, rather isconstituted as the very affect of agency. So what happens when a body performs the so-called 'wrong' gender? Can we think of this as a subversive action in and of itself? To do so Butler argues would assume, firstly, that the performer has the ability and agency to consciously choose his/her own gender and, secondly, that the performance somehow takes place outside of the juridical regime that constrains and bounds itsconstituents. Does it really make no difference if you're black or white, boy or girl, male or female? Is it the dance orperformance itself that produces the body, the identity? Judith Butler argues that gender is aperformative citation, a reiteration of an always already derived identity that takes place within aneconomy of heterosexuality. If you love grapefruit, I’d say it’s a must own. This is a summer fragrance that is at least worth a try. I mean, I pick up grapefruit for most of the wear, but I liked that initial weighting much more than the middle and ending. I do wish that grapefruit opening would stick around for a longer while. It’s weaker than Eau Intense, but about right in line with Light Blue Sun. I wouldn’t really complain about it, if I purchased a full bottle. The performance isn’t spectacular, but it’s good enough for one of these sorts of summer fragrances. With the remaining citrus, it can come across as somewhat sour. Either way, that’s what you should expect a lot of the dry down to be about. For others, the vetiver woodsy freshness might pop out more. On my skin, I get more of the violet leaf note. That first hour especially, is really great stuff.įorever Pour Homme will change things up, however. The grapefruit opening is super juicy, fresh, and hyper-realistic. That being said, even with those two caveats, I did like this cologne. Again, I’m not a massive grapefruit fan and violet leaf isn’t a note that I particularly care for either. Overall, do I like Light Blue Forever? I do enjoy it quite a bit. Overall Impressions of Light Blue Forever Casual, daily wear, and maybe nightlife (if you don’t want to wear a beast). Light Blue Forever has a mass appealing scent and should be able to draw plenty of complements from passersby. It’s well put together and appropriate for men of all age groups. ![]() Generally speaking, most folks will be using it for the summer. If you live in a warmer climate, you should be able to break this out in the spring and early autumn as well. The performance is a weakness here, though, it’s isn’t terrible. ![]() It is still there, I just don’t notice it all that often. That being said, most of what you’re going to pick up will be in the first couple of hours. Though, with this sort of citrus based cologne, that’s pretty much to be expected.Īs a weaker skin scent, it’ll hang around for just over 7 hours, on my skin. It projects in that 4-6 foot range, initially, with a normal amount of application. The early stages do give you a strong blast, but it dries down into a much lighter fragrance. The sillage here is pretty moderate, as a whole. It’s a fairly simple wear from Dolce & Gabbana. That’s about all of the development that I get with Forever Pour Homme. Once the grapefruit calms down, the violet leaf and vetiver have a much stronger influence and the cologne seems to be split between these three notes (and the general ozonic accord) fairly equally. Light Blue Forever is extremely bright and uplifting, one to reach for if you love clean scents. While the grapefruit dominates the composition, you will also pick up some cleanliness from the white musk and woodsy freshness from the Indonesian vetiver. In the dry down, it leans much more green than anything aquatic. Light Blue Forever is more of a ‘blue-ish green’ cologne, in the early stages, when compared to the others in this series. So, the very opening is going to be a blast of the big juicy citrus, with a breezy/watery ozonic accord, and violet leaf. I like the smell of grapefruit (hate the taste), but it’s not something that I absolutely love. Now, if you don’t particularly enjoy that scent, this is one that you should avoid. People aren’t exaggerating, it really does smell like a freshly cut grapefruit. Notes include: grapefruit, violet leaf, white musk, vetiver, ozonic accordĬlick here to try: Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Forever for Men by Dolce & Gabbana Eau De Parfum,3.3 Fl Ozįrom D&G: A bold new expression of freshness, Light Blue Forever Pour Homme blends intensity and delicateness to create a scent that is both generous and addictive.Īll that I’ve been hearing about Forever, is just how realistic the grapefruit note is in this fragrance.
